Hanwha Base Camp

The Bismayah New City Project (BNCP) was announced by the National Investment Commission of Iraq (NIC) in 2010 to provide 3 million housing units to Iraqi families. The BNCP is currently the world’s largest residential project with 100,000 units of phase 1 currently being built on the outskirts of Baghdad. It is the first and biggest city development throughout the history of Iraq.

Hanwha E&C, one of Korea’s top 10 business groups, is the lead design and construction company for the BNCP, which brought in construction workers to build the New City and be situated onsite at a Base Camp while works were in progress.

Al Murabit provides static security for the foreign workers at the accommodation camp inside the New City. AMS91 provides the Korean staff with mobile security for airport meet and greets, medical emergencies, and meetings at high profile locations in Baghdad, Basra and the surrounding area. AMS also works closely with the Iraqi army who secure the perimeter fence of the Base Camp.

Al Murabit’s parent company, Harlow International, has partnered with Hanwha E&C since the inception of the project, implementing civil works for the BNCP Base Camp and in the New City itself. In addition, our company provides consultation, transportation, procurement and life support requirements. Senior management stay at Riverside and rent offices there long-term while working on the Bismayah New City Project.
